The Office of Management and Budget told Federal agencies in a March 17 memo to “maximize telework across the nation for the Federal workforce” due to the COVID-19 coronavirus.

Government agencies continue to be the nation’s top target for cybercrime. In light of the recent expansion of telework across all levels of government, the attack surface now extends to each and every employee’s remote computer, often minimally protected by a home router or antivirus.

Agency leaders are responsible for delivering mission-critical functions and other essential government services, from border protection, postal delivery, to medical services, and tax collection. The risk of the loss of agency data or infection from malware that can ultimately penetrate the agency network is real.

This webinar will discuss the threats and impacts of government’s decentralized remote workforce and ways to reduce or mitigate those threats.

Learning Objectives:

  • Delineate technologies agencies can use to mitigate the cyber risk from remote workforce.
  • Detail governance mandates supporting the rise in telework.
  • Review mandatory network protection that protects agency data during high telework.
